Dinosaur Song

One summer i came across a book store that carried a small illustrated poem By Daria Tessler. The title of the Story was Dinosaur Song and it inspired me to create an animation based off it. The animation Dinosaur Song was created using a variety of Materials, animation techniques and computer programs. Since this project would be my final Cal Arts student film, i really wanted to just have fun developing the visuals of the animation. One of my greatest inspirations in animation is Yuri Norstein, who's paper cut out animations influenced the look of this short. I am thankful to Daria Tessler for sharing this story and allowing me to recreate it as an animation. I am deeply grateful for the relationships and experiences that i have gained during my time at Cal Arts. Thank you, I will miss You Cal Arts.

Functional Design

Functional Design a Story derived from my own personal experiences in coming out to friends and family. Although the internal conflict addressed in this animation deals with issues of sexual identity, my hope was to share a universal message about the Importance of being honest with yourself and the people you love. Functional Design was selected to be in the 2007 Seattle gay & lesbian festival, and will be screened in April at the 2008 Film Out San Diego Festival. Animated on tracing paper and rendered in colored pencil and ink.

Love Sick Lady

Love Sick Lady was created during my second year at Cal Arts. It was selected to be in the 2006 Producers Show and screened in 2007 at the Taiwan International Animation Festival. The story shares my thoughts at the time about LOVE. The style of this film was greatly influenced by the work of George Grosz, a German Impressionist/ Cartoonist. The film was hand colored with Prisma Marker and outlined in pencil, a technique that i am probably still recovering from.

Hungry Fox

Hungry Fox Created in 2006 as a quick assignment for a sound design class. I wouldn't consider this short to be my strongest work, but it was a lot of fun to make and i think it probably helped me develop in animating with different mediums. Animated in Colored Pencil and marker.
